About the role:
We are seeking an Ethics, Risk and Compliance Manager to be at the forefront of driving ethical business practices that impact our impact our people, patients, and society. In this role, you will partner with the business to support initiatives that deliver on our patient-centric approach in a way that upholds the highest standards of integrity, mitigates risks and comply with regulations. This role will work directly with the Ethics, Risk & Compliance (ERC) team and reports to the Country Head, Ethics Risk and Compliance.

About the Role

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide robust and increasingly autonomous business partnering with a focus on enabling day to day initiatives and innovation within ethical standards while managing risk.
  • Offer Novartis associates and the business, critical guidance, support, direction and insights into ethical considerations, applicable codes and regulatory requirements, enabling informed and risk-based decisions.
  • As enterprise connector, embrace an enterprise-view to connect functions and people, removing silos, managing complexity and co-creating solutions.
  • Support the development of an ethical culture as espoused by the Code of Ethics and working across functions/departments to shape the environment that fosters ethical decisions making.

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Life Sciences or any other related fields, Business, Finance or Law. Any additional relevant certification is a plus.
  • Significant experience in the Pharma/Life Sciences/healthcare industry.
  • Strong autonomous business partnering, a strong inclination to continuous improvement and a solution-oriented mentality. Proven capacity to sift through complexity to provide timely and pragmatic solutions to the business.
  • Ability to analyze complex ethical/compliance issues and offer advice to enable business make timely and ethical decisions.
  • Results oriented, customer focused and with excellent interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience with the Canadian Pharma/Bio-Pharma industry and industry ethical standards is a definite plus
  • Bilingual (English & French)
